PADI Tec Rec

Go beyond the limits: deeper, longer, with more gear!

Technical diving means going beyond recreational scuba diving limits : diving deeper and longer. But Tec divers will tell you that it really is about the challenge of exploring places that no one else has ever seen.Tec diving is not for everyone but it does attract experienced divers who are willing to accept the added risks,training,investment and commitment needed. Tec 40

Pre-requisites

• Certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or a qualifying certification from another training organization.

• PADI Enriched Air Diver or a qualifying certification from another training organization, PADI Deep Diver or proof of 10 dives to 30 metres/100 feet.

• 18 years old, 30 logged dives (10 with EANx, 7 deeper than 30 metres/100 feet).

What will you learn?

• Dive to a maximum depth of 40 metres/130 feet using air or enriched air.

• Make dives with up to 10 minutes required decompression.

• Use enriched air nitrox with up to 50 percent oxygen (EANx50) during decompression to make it more conservative.


Introduction to TECH (TDI)

Pre-requisites

•Minimum age 18 (or age 15 with parental consent)

•Open Water Scuba Diver, or equivalent

•Twenty-five (25) logged dives

What will you learn?

This course introduces the sport diver to the concepts of technical diving and technical diving equipment.


Advanced Nitrox (TDI)

Pre-requisites

• Minimum age 18 (or age 15 with parental consent)

• TDI Nitrox Diver or Equivalent

• Twenty-five (25) logged dives

What will you learn?

This course examines the use of EANx-21 through hundred percent oxygen for dives not requiring staged decompression.


Decompression Procedures (TDI)

Pre-requisites

• Minimum age 18 (or age 15 with parental consent)

• Advanced Adventure Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, or equivalent

• Twenty-five (25) logged dives

What will you learn?

This course examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. You will be learning how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not exceeding a maximum depth of 45 metres / 150 feet. You will be permitted to utilize enriched air nitrox (EAN) mixes or oxygen for decompression provided the gas mix is within your current certification level.


Tec Sidemount

Pre-requisites

• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, 30 logged dives, 18 years old

What will you learn?

• Set up, plan and make dives with technical sidemount equipment, after developing the base equipment-related motor skills and underlying knowledge

• Use sidemount equipment with 4 cylinders in the context of technical diving


Tec Rescue

Pre-requisites

• 18 years old, PADI Tec 45, 100 logged dives (20 deeper than 18 metres/60 feet using EANx, at least 15 deeper than 30 metres/100 feet, with or without EANx).

What will you learn?

• Master the highest level of self and team mate technical rescue skills

• Prepare technical diver and dive site risk assessments and emergency plans

• Recognize and remediate the most likely risk factors in open water, open circuit technical diving
