The March weekend that was….

The week started on a very bight note with the onset of work for the second temple reef. The resident instructors and guests took part in putting up concrete bases down at 18m. That is the hardest and yet the most important as a structure without a proper foundation will not be able to fight against the onslaught of the trawlers. A detailed report of that will be up soon.
An another awesome event, work on which was happening in the shadows all week was the Mini Pirate dive trip. Jonah and John, supervised by our all leader Rob, really put in a lot of effort to organise all the logistics and plan out the event. Special thanks to Luke , Danny, Iyannar and the rest of the guys for doing a lot of the heavy lifting and helping the divers get a steady influx of gas.

Shout out to all the members of the pirate crew: Tucker, Raul, Pascal, Ishan, Koshy, Karthik, Brain, Das, John and Jonah – the captain of the boat. They had fun times in the calm Pondicherry seas, and were able to scout out two awesome new dive sites as well. Thanks to them being pirates and their utter lack of naming skills, the dive sites will be called Pirate Booty and Cabbage Patch. The entire #NSFW details were being penned down, last we heard. They did manage to scare the DSDs who were out along with the left out instructors on both Saturday and Sunday.

With all good things, there are always some sad bits. Gary did his last dive with us this Sunday. His current spell with Temple ends on the 26th as he leaves for Thailand to pursue his passions and family business. We wish him the very best of luck and hope he returns back to India soon and joins our Pondy team again.
