The week that was – learn and relearn

This week is dedicated to students, both old and new. We had Rohan, Amogh and Tarini step into the wonderful world of diving by completing their PADI Open Water courses and Shweta advancing through her skills by doing the Advanced Open Water Course. Sridhar, Roshan and Kuldeep did their EFR courses over the week as well. Klaus and Khush got their Deep specialities as well.

We had Mark, our Course Director teach and hone up the skills of the Assistant Instructors all over the week as part of the ongoing PADI Instructor Development Course. They looked all set up, prepared and a bit scared when Rob Scammel, the Instructor Trainer, took over yesterday. Word is that, they passed the written exam, pool session and classroom presentation in flying colours. We wont be able to know the full results until today afternoon though 🙂
It has been a great environment in Pondicherry this last 2-3 weeks for learning, and everyone (seasoned instructors and divers as well new students) were able to learn so much. We hope that whatever we have learnt we will be able to pass on to you fellow divers as well!! Meanwhile, even though we miss the rains out here, the conditions for diving have never been better. The special drift dive with Jonah continues to expose some amazing macro life of Pondicherry.

Aravind and a few members of our team was involved in the search of the missing Dornier aircraft of the coast guard for the past week. We are very sad to tell you that it is an unsuccessful attempt till date and we are still trying to find out the plane. A detailed post of the rescue efforts undertaken will be put up later.
