Everyone who’s ever heard of Temple Adventures already knows that we love first-time divers (known in the diving world as Discover Scuba Divers) because we have the joy of giving them their first ever dive…and you know what they say – you can have only one first dive!

A few weekends ago, we had a great day out at our favourite quarry, with a big group from Renault. All of them signed up for the Discover Scuba Diving program. They had never dived before, let alone been in the water that long! The big group of 85 divers came to the quarry, excited and apprehensive, and the element of adventure and a great day ahead was unmistakable.
Having been one of the biggest groups we have ever handled in a single day, our instructors – Akhil, Aravind, Jonah, Neela, Amritha, Ambi, Ayyanar and more – began preparations as early as 4:30 in the morning. The equipment, vehicles, tanks and most importantly the food, were all loaded carefully to make sure that we don’t forget anything. They left the Dive Centre at around 6 AM, and arrived at the quarry just as the sun began to show itself fully. The setting up had now begun, and Jonah’s timely arrival with hot samosas and tea lightened up the whole team’s spirits.

The most exciting part of all was yet to come – all of a sudden, Aravind, who had succeeded in climbing the tallest tree around the quarry, announced that a big convoy of Renault Dusters were arriving. That was who we were waiting for, and the excitement began thus!
Everyone was at the ready, and while Aravind keep everyone entertained and prepared for the dive on the surface, the other instructors received them in the water and gave them their most unforgettable experience yet – the joy of breathing underwater, and witnessing a small portion of the water that covers 70% of the earth! And of course, plenty of pictures were taken to keep the memories alive, and conversations went on while the bananas and chips were consumed in plenty.
At around 3 pm, all the Discover Scuba Divers had completed their dives, and it was time to go home. It was the end of a fantastic, fun-filled day, and the divers went home with a story to tell and something to remember for life!
If you too would like to bring your enterprise or company for a dive with us, you are most welcome! You know how to reach us. 🙂
